Child sexual abuse is the most under-reported of all crimes. When it is reported, it is the least acted upon of all crimes. When it is acted on, it is the least punished of all crimes.

Ignorance of child sexual abuse has been and still is a principle factor inhibiting its prevention and prolonging the suffering of so many victims.

If we are serious about protecting children from sexual abuse, we must all – parents, teachers and everyone in our communities – transform ourselves from passive observers to active participants in the protection of all children. Throwing our hands up in the air with resignation and feigning ignorance have not been effective and yet most of us continue to throw this issue into the “too hard basket”.

By writing ‘The Silent Crisis’, I wanted to help parents and others become aware of the potential dangers and to demonstrate that there are positive and simple things

we can all do to prevent child sexual abuse from occurring. Educating ourselves about child sexual abuse does not need to be a frightening endevour but instead, it can be a journey of empowerment and a way to protect our most precious children. One thing is for certain: worry, ignorance and denial are not effective strategies for protecting children.

My intention is for children to trust in you the parent, in themselves and in their instincts and in turn, to recognise the signs of potential danger and respond in the smartest and safest way possible. Children who have learnt to trust in their instincts and maintain a relaxed awareness are far better prepared for any danger they may encounter.

Additionally, when armed with appropriate information and an understanding that bonding and attachment are the foundations for protecting children from sexual abuse; parents and others who care for children can become more empowered to protect them by fostering closer more communicative, loving, fulfilling and trusting relationships.

Think of 'The Silent Crisis' not only as a guide to keeping your whole family safer but also as an opportunity to teach, connect with and get to know your children better. The greatest safety tool you can equip them with is a healthy self-esteem and a loving supportive environment in which to grow.

One child protected, loved and respected will not only improve the world we live in today but also the world of which they will be the stewards in the future.

2008.11.17 • SPRY SEVEN BEGINS AND SPARKS FLY

BEING UNDEFEATED IN HIS FIRST TWO BOUTS IN SPRY Wrestling Tyler Tirva was interviewed to start the November set of the SPRY Seven but today SPRY Wrestling received an email from Ethan Page demanding to also be part of the seven days, seven wrestlers, seven questions segment we conduct monthly. 2008.11.14 • ASYLUM'S HUNT FOR GLORY

BEING WINLESS IN HIS FIRST TWO MATCHES IN SPRY WRESTLING Asylum looks to pull out all the stops in his third attempt. He lost to Xtremo on September 27 at "Setting the Pace" because in our eyes, of too much show boating, and at "Crossroads" he fell short again after using a chair but having the weapon backfire and costing him the bout with Don Paysan. At "November Reign" Asylum looks to finally obtain a victory. SPRY Wrestling and its fans are very interested to see if Asylum can pick up a victory at "November Reign" and what exactly he'll do to earn that win.

Another couple of matches that we at SPRY are happy to announce is the return of "The Motion Picture" Ethan Page as he squares off against "Tricked Out" Tyler Tirva as well as the SPRY debut of RJ City, who will meet Garrett Graves at November Reign.

2008.11.08 • STATEMENT FROM SPRY OFFICIALS

WE AT SPRY WRESTLING are disgusted with the actions Josh Prohibition has taken into his hands. He has manipulated Matt Cross, Lionel Knight and Freddie Fantastic into joining his side in what he seems to think is a powerful entity. At "Crossroads" Josh Prohibition went beyond his usual and handcuffed Xtremo and Cody Deaner just to beat them down, as if a three on two attack wasn't enough. As a result of the anslaught by Josh Prohibition, Matt Cross and Lionel Knight, Cody Deaner will not be able to compete at "November Reign" as he is out of action with a separated shoulder.

With under three weeks until "November Reign", Josh Prohibition is going to take on Xtremo and SPRY Wrestling is banning Matt Cross and Lionel Knight from ringside. With that said Lionel Knight has something to worry about as well as I've received a challenge made by Don Paysan who also believes this "power-hungry" team deserves a reality check.

Along with Josh Prohibition versus Xtremo with "MDogg20" Matt Cross and Lionel Knight banned from ringside, SPRY officials aren't at all appreciative with the atrocious acts of BOTH Lionel Knight and his newly appointed manager Freddie Fantastic. At November Reign the "Amazing Canadian" Lionel Knight will face a mystery opponent who will surely set Lionel (and perhaps Freddie) straight.

Another exciting SPRY debut will take place when the "Arial Assassin" Christopher Bishop meets the "High Risk Hero" Rip Impact in what is sure to be a face-paced, jaw-dropping bout! To add to this already steller event, Don Paysan will take on "MDogg20" Matt Cross, an individual also guilty of atrocity at SPRY's last event.

SPRY is also proud to announce the first release from SPRY Home Video as our first ever event "Setting The Pace" that was held in September will be available at "November Reign". Check our our Shop section for more information.

2008.10.26 • NOVEMBER REIGN

WHEN "CROSSROADS" BEGAN, Xtremo took on MDogg20 in his SPRY Wrestling debut but their match was cut short as Josh Prohibition made a surprise appearance and showed his alliance with "MDogg20" Matt Cross. Cody Deaner quickly made his way out to save Xtremo and the four men were left with quite a main event ahead of them as Deaner and Xtremo challenged Josh and Matt to an "Anything Goes, Tornado Tag Match".

In the end we witnessed carnage all over the arena and two men were standing tall as Josh Prohibition proved right with his words when he said one man would take him to the top but as Josh Prohibition and Matt Cross continued their assault on Xtremo and Cody Deaner, Lionel Knight ran to the ring and he as well sided with J-Pro leaving Xtremo and Cody Deaner handcuffed and helpless as they closed off "Crossroads".

Word is going around quickly in the SPRY Locker room that The SPRY Officials, Rip Impact, Don Paysan and several others are disgusted with the way Josh Prohibition is treating this new Ontario Indy Promotion. What will SPRY Wrestling Owners Danny and Amanda have to say about the carnage left at "Crossroads" and the power hungry Josh Prohibition? Only time will tell until an official statement is released.

You know Deaner beating me was a total fluke. He's a joke of a wrestler. I could beat that chump 99 out of 100 times. I was under the weather and he wrestled the match of his life. I want a rematch with that douchebag October 17th and you better give it to me because I'm the only reason fans bothered coming out to your show. I've dominated the Ontario wrestling scene for the past 3 years and I'm the only draw in that area. Either book the match or I'm done with SPRY. I call the shots around here. I'll bring in who i want, i'll wrestle who i want, and i'll choose whatever stipulations i want. Deaner has a receipt coming October 17th. If you don't like fire me. You won't though because you know those schmucks pay to hate me. Don't get on my bad side dude...do the right thing.

Josh Prohibition

Though cocky, Josh Prohibition has swung his weight around with SPRY Officials and we are willing to give him what he wants. At CROSSROADS, on October 17th, Josh Prohibition will not only get his rematch with Cody Deaner, but Josh will also get to name the stipulation of the match as well.

2008.10.06 • CROSSROADS UPDATE

CROSSROADS will be hit on October 17th, and SPRY is proud to announce that none other than the awe-striking MDogg20 will be making his SPRY debut as he takes on the versatile Xtremo.

SPRY can also confirm that Don Paysan, in his SPRY debut, will meet the agressive Asylum in one-on-one action.

And yet a third to-be-'fantastic' SPRY debut is the much anticipated return of the "Amazing Canadian" Lionel Knight to the Bolton Fairground as he squares off against the "High Risk Hero" Rip Impact.

2008.09.29 • CROSSROADS

WHEN "SETTING THE PACE" CONCLUDED, we all witnessed Josh Prohibition losing to one of Ontario's best, Cody Deaner, but Josh couldn't take the loss with dignity.

He was humiliated and fed up with his debut in SPRY. Now he states there is only one man he can trust and one man he can stay on top of the SPRY Locker Room with.

Who is he bringing in for SPRY's October show and what roll with the two play at "Crossroads"?

THIS SATURDAY, BEFORE THE DOORS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, a number of wrestlers from the SPRY Locker Room have availed themselves for a chance to meet their die-hard fans. From autographs, to pictures and conversation, fans will get the rare opportunity of seeing their favourite indie wrestlers before their matches at SETTING THE PACE!

The only way to get into the Meet-and-Greet is to make a ticket reservation for our first event, THIS SATURDAY, September 27th. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE BOLTON FAIRGROUNDS (President's Building) NO LATER THAN 6:45pm TO ENSURE YOUR ADMITTANCE INTO THE MEET-AND-GREET!

With that said, those who make ticket reservations (for both Reserved Seating and General Admission) will also get first dibs on seat selection.
